
On Saturday, India initiated the world’s largest vaccination drive, with health workers already getting ready for the vaccine.
The vaccination drive will hope to inoculate approximately 300 million people with the COVID-19 vaccine.
Healthcare workers and front line workers will be among the first people to receive the vaccine.
The nationwide vaccine drive was announced by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi via a televised speech.
“We are launching the world’s biggest vaccination drive and it shows the world our capability,”
The vaccines currently authorized for use in India are the locally produced Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine and the Covaxin vaccine.
India has reported 10,558,710 COVID-19 cases and 152,311 coronavirus related fatalities.
