Switzerland: 4,703 new COVID-19 cases and 46 additional fatalities reported

On Monday, Switzerland reported 4,703 new COVID-19 cases and 46 additional fatalities, all of which occurred over the past 24 hours.

In total, Switzerland has reported 499,931 COVID-19 cases and 8,728 coronavirus related fatalities.

Switzerland reported its first case of COVID-19 on 25 February 2020 after a 70-year-old man tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Switzerland has taken multiple measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, with the COVID-19 vaccination drive, which was initiated on 23 December 2020, being one of the country’s primary methods to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The United States is currently leading global COVID-19 cases with over 24.4 million infections and 407,224 fatalities, although India trails behind with 10.5 million cases and 152,456 deaths. As for the third-highest caseload and death toll, Brazil follows with 8.4 million cases and 209,868 deaths.

The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 95.5 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 2 million fatalities across 219 countries and territories.
