Germany: 12,159 new COVID-19 cases and 1,139 additional fatalities reported

On Tuesday, Germany reported 12,159 new COVID-19 cases and 1,139 additional fatalities, all of which occurred over the past 24 hours.

In total, Germany has reported 2,071,473 COVID-19 cases and 49,244 coronavirus-related fatalities.

Germany reported its first case of COVID-19 on 27 January 2020.

Germany has been greatly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, with last year’s lockdowns bringing the economy to a halt.

Germany began COVID-19 inoculations on 26 December 2020.

The United States is currently leading global COVID-19 cases with over 24.7 million infections and 410,794 fatalities, although India trails behind with 10.5 million cases and 152,747 deaths. As for the third-highest caseload and death toll, Brazil follows with 8.5 million cases and 211,491 deaths.

The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 96.5 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 2 million fatalities across 219 countries and territories.
