U.S. reports 169,627 new COVID-19 cases and 3,747 additional fatalities

On Wednesday, the United States reported 169,627 new COVID-19 cases and 3,747 additional fatalities, marking a small decrease from yesterday’s 174,558 cases and 2,804 deaths.

In total, the United States has reported 24,979,648 COVID-19 cases and 415,269 coronavirus-related fatalities.

The United States reported its first case of COVID-19 on 20 January 2020.

The United States is currently leading global COVID-19 cases with over 24.9 million infections and 415,269 fatalities, although India trails behind with 10.6 million cases and 152,906 deaths. As for the third-highest caseload and death toll, Brazil follows with 8.6 million cases and 212,893 deaths.

The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 97.2 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 2 million fatalities across 219 countries and territories.
