Germany reports 18,700 new COVID-19 cases and 855 additional fatalities

On Thursday, Germany reported 18,700 new COVID-19 cases and 855 additional fatalities, marking a slight drop from Wednesday’s 18,559 cases and 1,052 deaths.

In total, Germany has reported 2,108,895 COVID-19 cases and 51,151 coronavirus-related fatalities.

Germany reported its first case of COVID-19 on 27 January 2020.

After reporting its first case of COVID-19 on January 27, 2020, Germany has been greatly impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, with last year’s lockdowns bringing the economy to a halt.

Germany began COVID-19 inoculations on 26 December 2020.

The United States is currently leading global COVID-19 cases with over 25.1 million infections and 419,635 fatalities, although India trails behind with 10.6 million cases and 153,053 deaths. As for the third-highest caseload and death toll, Brazil follows with 8.6 million cases and 214,228 deaths.

The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 98 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 2 million fatalities across 219 countries and territories.
