Apple Glass: $499 Price Tag, Design and Features Leaked

Apple's AR goggles might be called 'Apple Glass,' according to new ...

Apple Glass, the augmented reality glasses from Apple, will be priced at $499 at launch, a prolific tipster has claimed. The tipster also shared details about the Apple Glass design, availability, and features via a YouTube video. For over a year now, Apple’s alleged AR glasses have surfaced in articles online, but this is the first time we’re getting so many alleged details about the new product.

An individual by the name Jon Prosser made a Youtube video on the glasses, revealing that they will simply be named Apple Glass. The glasses will reportedly come in several versions, with the base model costing $499, with an added cost for prescription lenses if you need them.

Prosser believes that Apple is preparing to launch the Apple Glass at an event sometime between October and December 2020, but due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, this might not be viable, suggesting a possible March 2021 reveal. The glasses will reportedly go on sale between November and December 2021.

The Apple Glass will reportedly appear identical to regular glasses and support wireless charging via a plastic charging stand included with the glasses.

According to Prosser, an iPhone will handle all of the processing for Apple Glass, which explains the low price tag. Information will be displayed in both lenses, although it will not be visible to other individuals who glance at the glasses, only to the user. The UI in the glasses can be allegedly controlled by air gestures in front of the glasses.
