Ontario: 783 new COVID-19 infections, five fatalities reported

On Thursday, Ontario reported 783 new COVID-19 infections, raising the coronavirus case toll in the province to 62,196.

Five additional fatalities were also reported by health officials, which took the death toll in the province to 3,022.

The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 38 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 1.3 million fatalities across 188 countries and territories.
