United States: 126,296 new COVID-19 cases, 1,268 fatalities reported

On Tuesday, the United States reported 126,296 new COVID-19 cases and 1,268 additional fatalities, all of which occurred over the past 24 hours.

In total, the United States has reported 10,553,818 COVID-19 cases and 245,746 coronavirus related fatalities.

The United States is currently leading global COVID-19 cases with over 10.5 million infections and 245,746 fatalities, although India follows closely behind with 8.6 million cases and 127,615 deaths. As for the third-highest caseload and death toll, Brazil follows with 5.7 million cases and 162,842 deaths, Russia with 1.8 million cases and 31,161 deaths, and France with 1.8 million cases and 42,207 coronavirus related deaths.

The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 53 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 1.3 million fatalities across 216 countries and territories.
