Germany: 15,644 new COVID-19 cases, 117 fatalities reported

On Thursday, Germany reported 15,644 new COVID-19 cases and 117 additional fatalities, all of which occurred over the past 24 hours.

In total, Germany has reported 745,523 COVID-19 cases and 12,230 coronavirus related fatalities.

The United States is currently leading global COVID-19 cases with over 10.8 million infections and 248,070 fatalities, although India follows closely behind with 8.7 million cases and 128,686 deaths. As for the third-highest caseload and death toll, Brazil follows with 5.7 million cases and 163,492 deaths, Russia with 1.8 million cases and 32,032 deaths, and France with 1.8 million cases and 42,960 coronavirus related deaths.

The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 53 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 1.3 million fatalities across 216 countries and territories.
