Germany: 1,873 new COVID-19 cases, 27 fatalities reported

On Thursday, Germany reported 1,873 new COVID-19 cases and 27 additional fatalities, all of which occurred over the past 24 hours.

In total, Germany has reported 985,604 COVID-19 cases and 15,408 coronavirus related fatalities.

The United States is currently leading global COVID-19 cases with over 13.1 million infections and 268,262 fatalities, although India follows closely behind with 9.2 million cases and 135,261 deaths. As for the third-highest caseload and death toll, Brazil follows with 6.1 million cases and 170,799 deaths, Russia with 2.1 million cases and 38,062 deaths, and France with 2.1 million infections and 50,618 deaths.

The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 60 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 1.4 million fatalities across 217 countries and territories.
