On Tuesday, Germany reported 15,898 new COVID-19 cases and 497 additional fatalities, all of which occurred over the past 24 hours.
In total, Germany has reported 1,085,661 COVID-19 cases and 17,359 coronavirus related fatalities.
The United States is currently leading global COVID-19 cases with over 14 million infections and 276,704 fatalities, although India follows with 9.4 million cases and 138,090 deaths. As for the third-highest caseload and death toll, Brazil follows with 6.3 million cases and 173,817 deaths, Russia with 2.3 million cases and 40,464 deaths, and France with 2.2 million infections and 53,506 deaths.
The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 64 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 1.4 million fatalities across 217 countries and territories.
