South Korea: 967 new COVID-19 cases, 21 fatalities reported

On Thursday, South Korea reported 967 new COVID-19 cases and 21 additional fatalities, all of which occurred over the past 24 hours.

In total, South Korea has reported 60,740 COVID-19 cases and 900 coronavirus related fatalities.

The United States is currently leading global COVID-19 cases with over 20.2 million infections and 350,778 fatalities, although India trails behind with 10.2 million cases and 148,774 deaths. As for the third-highest caseload and death toll, Brazil follows with 7.6 million cases and 193,940 deaths, Russia with 3.1 million cases and 56,426 deaths, and France with 2.6 million infections and 64,381 deaths.

The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 83 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 1.8 million fatalities across 218 countries and territories.
