Belgium: 1,793 new COVID-19 cases, 53 fatalities reported

On Saturday, Belgium reported 1,793 new COVID-19 cases and 53 additional fatalities, all of which occurred over the past 24 hours.

In total, Belgium has reported 648,289 COVID-19 cases and 19,581 coronavirus related fatalities.

The United States is currently leading global COVID-19 cases with over 20.6 million infections and 356,445 fatalities, although India trails behind with 10.3 million cases and 149,218 deaths. As for the third-highest caseload and death toll, Brazil follows with 7.7 million cases and 195,441 deaths, Russia with 3.2 million cases and 58,002 deaths, and France with 2.6 million infections and 64,765 deaths.

The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 84.4 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 1.8 million fatalities across 218 countries and territories.
