On Tuesday, French President Emmanuel Macron called on Joe Biden to display an increased military engagement in the fight against conflicts involving Islamic extremists in the Middle Eastern region.
While the French military has shown continuous support against Islamic extremists in the Middle East, the Trump Administration has significantly cut the number of troops in Afghanistan to 2,500, marking the lowest number of troops in the region since 2001.
In a speech, while talking about conflicts in the Middle East, Macron said, “I am certain that in the coming weeks, the new administration (Biden) will need to make key decisions that will mark a greater commitment and awareness in the fight against terrorism.”
